The International Cottages host the annual Ethnic Food Fair Sunday, May 29th, starting at 10:00 a.m. and we turn the Cottage into a wonderful Danish bakery from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Over 30 nationalities serve their traditional foods as stage performers share music and dance from many different countries.
Please consider giving a hand at the Cottage. Volunteering opportunities start at 10:00 a.m.
If you can bake, we’d love your help!
Even if you cannot join us at the Cottage, your baked goods are much appreciated, as long as we can work out a way to get them there.
We celebrate Mother’s Day and host the Lawn Program in the International Village Sunday, May 8th, from noon to 4:00 p.m. with entertainment from 2:00 till about 3:15 or 3:30. There will be dancing and music and something for all ages.
This is our great opportunity to showcase Danish culture, and there is a lot to do. If you are able to help, Oda would love to hear from you.
We are delighted that the brilliant builders from the San Diego Lego Users’ Group will join us with their fabulous displays. We think they’ll bring some raffle prizes, too, so there may be a chance to win an awesome Lego set.
Also joining us are our fearless friends from the Guardians of Midgard with their highly entertaining and authentic presentation of the 1000-year-old Viking culture.
Last, but not least, we will be serving a Danish meal from the Cottage so visitors get a chance to sample our cuisine.
The bbq will be sizzling, and Danes will take the stage in front of the audience.
Come join us for a festive afternoon!
There may be nothing that unites us quite like food. Let’s get together around the table, catch up, and enjoy the company. Bring something to share if you can.
At the same time, we’ll get a chance to hear about an exciting new venture. Did you know that we now have a Danish University right here in our town? San Diego’s California International Business University (CIBU) and Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College have joined forces.
CIBU’s Deputy President, Steffen Herskind, and Professor and Dean of Students, Brian Hawkins, have agreed to join us to tell us more about the school and what its presence will mean for our Danish community.
Come celebrate spring with traditional Danish Easter crafts Saturday, March 19th, at 2:30 p.m. at the Cottage.
Enjoy a few treats together and get a chance to make gækkebreve and Easter decorations. Fun for the whole family!
We look forward to seeing you.
